Volunteering at Eden Valley Museum
Eden Valley Museum is centred on serving the community through the support of dedicated volunteers, without their help we could not continue to do what we do.
We are always looking to welcome new friends to our volunteer community and would encourage anyone interested to get in touch by phone on 01732 868 102 or via email at curator@evmt.org.uk
We particularly appreciate volunteers who can come forward to assist with the following roles.
Stewarding
Supported by the House Manager, Stewards are the face of the Museum, welcoming visitors, providing information on our latest exhibits and answering their questions. A role needing initiative and a friendly disposition, our Stewards handle the day to day operation of the shop and occasionally assist in ensuring in-house events such as talks run smoothly by offering direction to attendees. Our Stewards also open and close the Museum premises on weekends.
Stewarding is an excellent opportunity to get further involved with the local community and make fast friends with our other volunteers and the local community
Research Volunteer
Our Research Volunteer assist members of the community in discovering the hidden histories of the places and people of the Eden Valley. Meeting members of the public to discuss their needs and researching in our archives, the role is suited to people with a relaxed communication method who can conduct research independently.
As with all our roles we offer a supportive, welcoming environment and an enjoyable, rewarding experience. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable hands on experience.
Become a Trustee
