History Information Archive
A collection of objects and original documents including maps and documents relating to the social history and industrial archaeology of the Eden Valley in Kent. The collections consist primarily of local artefacts representing the trades, crafts and stories of the local communities. This includes tannery, cricket-ball making, milling, education, healthcare and commerce collections as well as a whole variety of other areas.
Photographs and Images
The Eden Valley Museum holds the Edenbridge and District Historical Society archive and information gathered to support research and exhibitions at the museum. This also includes oral history and recollections in various formats.
Our handling collection is available in support of talks, activities and exhibitions. It also includes travelling versions of previous exhibitions.
The Eden Valley Museum has more than 3,000 photographs, paintings and drawings in its collection. The majority are historical images from the first half of the 20th century or earlier, with more recent images relating to special events in the Valley or special collections donated to the museum in either print or digital format. Nearly 400 of these images comprise the Alan Dell Collection, donated to the museum in 2000. Through a collaboration with the Kent Photo Archive an ever-increasing number of our images are being made available online with special categories such as cricket ball making, hop picking and the tannery being drawn together.
A collection of more than 300 books and pamphlets of local interest.
